Presented by Austin Recycling Economic Development Program
Entrepreneurs are used to pitching their business idea to investors, partners, and anyone they might share an elevator ride with. In this competition, the tables turn. The [Re]Verse Pitch Competition is a social innovation program to help turn valuable raw materials that are currently leaving local businesses, non-profits, and institutions as waste into the foundation of new social enterprises. Sign up to get involved today.
If you are a business or institution with surplus or byproduct materials in Austin, apply to pitch at our opening event.
The [Re]Verse Pitch Competition is seeking applications from businesses and institutions that are consistently generating or collecting by-product, surplus or otherwise underutilized materials streams in Austin, Texas that could be put to higher and better use in new social enterprises.
If selected, you would pitch your material during SXSWEco at the [Re]Verse Pitch Opening Event to current and aspiring entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs will work with mentors and technical advisors to create business ideas repurposing your materials. The best ideas will receive an Innovation Prize to seed this new social venture. Apply here by September 6th.
If you are an entrepreneur interested in starting or growing a business that has a positive social impact, be a competitor!
Join us at our opening event on October 11 and let us know that you plan to compete for an Innovation Prize. You’ll receive mentorship over 8 weeks to refine a business idea and the chance to win prizes that will help you turn your idea into a new social enterprise.
