Hackathon Show & Tell
Come see the new tools created at the SXSW Eco Hackathon and vote on which should receive an award during the Hackathon Show-and-Tell on Monday, October 7 from 3:15pm - 5:30pm. In an informal presentation format Hackathon teams will present their energy apps that leverage massive home energy data and registrants will vote on the most usable app. The winner will be announced at the SXSW Eco Awards.

Join SXSW Eco and AMD’s 2nd annual “Green Army” event with Keep Austin Beautiful as we make a lasting impact on the Austin Community. Volunteers will have fun, make new connections, and create positive change by beautifying Austin’s urban landscape.
From 8am - 10am on Tuesday, October 8, make new connections and enhance Austin's urban landscape as we set out to revitalize two historic areas: the hip Rainey St. District and beautiful Waller Creek. Volunteer spots are limited so be sure to RSVP ahead of time to secure your place in the Green Army!

Meet the finalists of Place by Design and learn about their visionary projects in detail during this round-robin style meet up on Monday, October 7 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Find out more about how Autodesk is creating tools used by designers, architects and others to create smarter, more livable cities.
Network with the Place by Design jurors and designers and discover how design, tactical urbanism, civic hacking, architecture and more can transform ordinary public space into thriving places on Tuesday, October 8 from 4:30pm - 5:30pm.
See public art and placemaking initiatives that have transformed downtown Austin’s public spaces in this guided tour. Meet at the Place by Design Lounge on Wednesday, October 9 at 1:00pm.

Bright Leaf Field Trip Hosted by Sierra Club - Sign Up
This year during SXSW Eco, the Sierra Club wants to take you where few hikers have gone before – the Bright Leaf Preserve! Bright Leaf is a 200+ acre nature reserve within the city limits of Austin!
Join us on Wednesday, October 9 from 8:00am - 10:00am for a guided morning hike (know that the trail is natural and rocky) where we’ll learn about the sprawling Texas lands while exploring and enjoying the great outdoors in the heart of a major city.
Advance registration is requested. The hike will last 1 hour plus transportation time. All participants will receive a gift from the Sierra Club and bragging rights. Sign up here!
